ZOW, the International Exhibition of Components and Accessories for the Furniture Industry, is an event that is by now established among the leading world fairs in the sector.
The choice of date is strategic: the eighth ZOW Exhibition will take place from 15th to 18th October 2008, the right time for designing and creating new products for the big European furniture fairs held in winter and spring.
ZOW is strongly international: the 2007 exhibition, with 712 exhibitors of which 25% came from outside Italy, was visited by over 20,000 operators from no fewer than 92 countries. And it’s no coincidence that ZOW is held in the heart of the productive area that boasts the biggest sales in Italy: the area between Friuli and eastern Veneto holds two of the biggest Italian wood/furniture districts, where over 40% of Italian furniture and 80% of chairs are produced.
ZOW's choice of Pordenone is no coincidence: the area between Friuli and the west of Veneto is home to two of the main Italian manufacturing districts for the wood/furniture sector.
The Livenza "Furniture District" contains over 800 industrial and craft companies, employs approximately 13,000 workers and has an overall turnover of around 2 billion euro. In Udine province, the "Chair District" contains approximately 1,200 companies with 14,000 employees and produces over 44 million items of furniture per year, representing 80% of Italian production and 30% of worldwide production.
